I bought a nearly new PH-1 to give to my 13 year old son. We apply Google Family Link for all of our kid'due south devices without issue. Until the Ph-1. Usually I can set a device after a Factory Reset using their managed log-in and it goes smoothly. They are up and running in 10 minutes. For some reason that I have non been able to track down, information technology's not working on the PH-one. I've tried several different pathways and every unmarried fourth dimension once information technology tries to verify the child's business relationship information technology tells me it fails and I tin retry or cancel.

I've gone through the setup process using my parent account and I become everything working perfectly. I can reproduce the problem (unfortunately) after 3 full resets and retries. I've tried using all of the affected apps to make sure they are functional. I've logged into and out of the device, rebooted, tried to log in a unlike child...etc
Each time it fails with "something went wrong" and the merely options are re-endeavour or close.

I'm about to throw this matter under a motorbus.

Has anyone else been down this road?

Thanks!

Yep, it's broken. It has been a few months since I final tried, and so I figured I'd requite it another shot later on this week'south updates. Nevertheless doesn't piece of work. I had mine working old around late summer/early fall 2018. The original setup and configuration went smoothly, and the Google components worked fine (Gmail, Google Play). Simply sometime later I noticed that my kids' Google profiles on my PH-one were mangled. Google apps suddenly didn't work. I don't think the details, but I figure it bankrupt subsequently an update. I concluded up deleting and re-creating the phone profiles for them, just the Google configuration never would consummate. Information technology fails during the Family Link download. I've even gone into their Google Play business relationship profiles and gear up information technology so that no approval is required for purchase or downloads. Simply the Family unit Link setup never completes nether their PH-1 profiles. It'southward frustrating because one of the reasons I bought the PH-i was the ability to manage multiple Android profiles. And it used to work.

Parent and kid account can't be on same device.

I had the aforementioned issue over and over again on a moto g7. It wasn't until I attempted to add the user via the Family Link instead of the native Android method that the error came up that the parent and child account can't be on the same device and said to remove the parent account. I factory reset the moto G7 and added my child's account and it worked as desired.

EDIT:
Lamentable, I hit this via google search and now noticed it'south for the Essential Phone. Not sure if relevant here...
